If you open Microsoft formatted documents on your Mac like I do then you have probably run across the annoying message saying the Calibri or Cambria font is missing.

For years I have ignored this as an annoyance, but today I decided to do something about it. Turns out there is a very easy fix!

This humanistic font have light, light italic, regular, italic, bold and bold italic. You can may have idea about the popularity of this font that callibri font is to be persevered as default font in microsoft workplace 2010, 2013 and 2016, further it’s now default font in office for mac 2016. The application cannot be run from within the dmg. You must drag it to a folder on your filesystem (The Desktop, Applications, wherever). In order to show calibre in a different language, open the preferences (by pressing ⌘+P) and select your language. Download Calibri Light font for PC/Mac for free, take a test-drive and see the entire character set. Moreover, you can embed it to your website with @font-face support. If I want to test or use default Microsoft fonts on my Mac, and I own a post-2006 copy of Windows or Office, I believe I can legally use Calibri and Cambria although IANAL. This would be especially helpful when collaborating with colleagues using Office products like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Right now, I get a warning like: 'Calibri not found.

Richard Taylor of RMTWeb became fed up like me and put together a package of fonts to restore Calibri and Cambria fonts on the Mac.

Getting the fonts running is trivial:

  • Download Richard’s font package from http://www.rmtweb.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Calibri-and-Cambria-Fonts.zip
  • Open the zip
  • (Here is where I differ from his notes)
  • Open the Font Book app
  • Select all the fonts from the download and drag them to Font Book
  • Click the select all checkbox and the install button
  • Celebrate!

Calibri Font Style

That’s it.

Really.

You will no longer get that annoying message about missing fonts!

Thanks to Richard for providing this resource! His original instructions can be found at https://www.rmtweb.co.uk/calibri-and-cambria-fonts-for-mac

Bonus: Segoe UI Font

After posting the original fonts I ran across an issue with Segoe UI fonts missing. Microsoft provides a download for them at Segoe UI and Fabric MDL2 external icon font. The install instructions are the same as above!
